Dr. Natalya Gallo
Scripps Institution of Oceanography
Dr. Natalya Gallo is a marine ecologist and biological oceanographer, currently working as a postdoctoral researcher with the CalCOFI long-term ecosystem monitoring program at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography at UCSD. Her research focuses on climate change impacts on deep sea fish and fisheries species. She is also an affiliate of the NOAA Southwest Fisheries Science Center and the Center for Climate Change Impacts and Adaptation at Scripps. She is passionate about the science-policy interface and using science to inform ocean-based climate mitigation and adaptation actions, and has participated in multiple UNFCCC international climate conferences. She is a previous Switzer Environmental Leadership Fellow, National Science Foundation graduate research fellow, honoree on the Forbes 30 Under 30 Science list, and UCSD TEDx presenter.
