Dr. Ankita Sood

Dr. Ankita, with a Ph.D. focused on urban flood mitigation through nature-based solutions, and a background in urban and rural planning, is now a climate and disaster resilient planning consultant. Currently, she is a Risk Data Fellow at the Global Facility for Disaster Reduction and Recovery (GFDRR) under the World Bank's umbrella, where she actively contributes to the development of risk-informed, climate-resilient plans for several Indian cities. In addition, she has successfully contributed to various projects, including the preparation of GIS-based municipality development plans, climate change action plans, and capacity-building programs. Other than this she also has taught university students for about 3 years as an assistant professor. She has experience working in diverse countries including India, Brazil, the Phillipines and Pakistan. With a remarkable track record of industry and academia, Dr. Ankita is committed of enhance urban resilience and is establishing herself as a trusted consultant in the field.
