Mr. Alex Tait
Alex holds the position of The Geographer at NGS where he serves as a senior advisor for geography and mapping across National Geographic’s non-profit and media groups. He provides expertise to Society executives and to the Science & Innovation, Education, Storytelling, and Explorers programs. Alex promotes innovation in GIS and mapping solutions and works with NGS research programs (including the 2019 NG Rolex Expedition to Mt. Everest) in mapping efforts integrating field survey information, archival documents, and remotely-sensed data sources. He also leads work on National Geographic’s official Map Policy and development of cartographic databases.
