Mr. Mikey Abela

Mikey is a product manager at the Earth Genome, where he works with remote sensing data and web technologies. He is participating in a rotational product management program at Schmidt Futures, and has completed previous rotations at Climate TRACE and Speed & Scale. Previously, he received his bachelor's degree in computer science from Brown University. He is interested in exploring how creative technology, data driven storytelling, and user experience design might facilitate climate solutions. At the Earth Genome, he supports Earth Index, a search tool for the environment which puts the power of machine learning in the hands of any user in order to unlock insights from satellite imagery. He also works on the Plotline, exploring the intersection of food systems and the climate crisis through data analysis, visualization, and storytelling.
