Dr. André Müller
Dr. André Mueller is a Senior Researcher and Principal Investigator at the Division on European (and International) Spatial and Urban Development of the Federal Institute for Research on Building, Urban Affairs and Spatial Development (BBSR) within the Federal Office for Building and Regional Planning (BBR) in Bonn/Berlin/Cottbus (Germany).
He focuses his research as a Senior Researcher on the multi-level analysis of sustainable and resilient urban and spatial development, including planning instruments and financial tools as well as transformative learning model projects. As a Senior Lecturer and Reader, he has lectured at the Department of Geography in the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences of the University of Bonn, at SciencesPo Paris and its Master of Public Affairs Programme, the Sol Price School of Public Policy of the University of Southern California Los Angeles, the Innovators Forum at the John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences of Harvard University, the Faculty of Urban Planning and Architecture of the University of Stuttgart and the Centre for Sustainable Asian Cities of the National University of Singapore as well as the Centre for Innovative Cities of the Singapore University of Technology and Design in the same way as he was an Adjunct Professor at the Department of Geography in the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Hong Kong. He also teamed as a visiting senior researcher with the Korea Research Institute for Human Settlements as part of the National Research Council for Economics, Humanities and Social Sciences of Korea in Seoul/Sejong.
Holding a PhD and MSc in engineering, urban studies and visual empiricism from RWTH Aachen University, he completed his Post-Doc as a Senior Fellow at the Global Cities Institute of the University of Toronto and sustainability masterclasses at the P3S Academy of the University of Oxford.
He is a chartered urban planner in Germany (North Rhine-Westphalia) and the European Union.
