Dr. Orville Grey
Orville Grey is a coastal ecologist and climate change researcher. He holds a PhD in Environmental Biology from the University of the West Indies (Mona). He has 20+ years of experience in climate change adaptation and climate financing, and environmental planning, science, and policy in government, academia and with international organisations. He is currently the Head of Secretariat for the National Adaptation Plan (NAP) Global Network, which is hosted by the International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD) focusing on accelerating adaptation planning and action in the Global South through the provision of technical support, facilitating South–South peer learning and exchanges, and mobilizing knowledge on the formulation and implementation of NAPs. He previously served as an Adaptation Planning Specialist and Regional Manager (Caribbean) at the Green Climate Fund (GCF), Adaptation Specialist for the Government of Jamaica and lead negotiator on adaptation and loss and damage for Jamaica, CARICOM and the Alliance of Small Island States (AOSIS) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.
