Dr. Richard Hewston

Rich is the strategic lead of Verisk Maplecroft’s Climate and Resilience practice. He is responsible for Verisk Maplecroft’s climate risk advisory offering and has two decades of experience supporting multinational companies, investors and government agencies assess and manage strategic and operational climate risks. Prior to joining Verisk Maplecroft, Richard worked in academia, developing and interpreting future climate projections, quantifying climate risks for a variety of stakeholders, and helping to develop climate resilient strategies. Richard holds a PhD in Environmental Science from the University of East Anglia. As an undergraduate, he studied at the University of East Anglia and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, gaining a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science.
