Ms. Amina Sadia
Amina Sadia is an environmental science researcher specializing in remote sensing, machine learning, and climate change modeling. As the President of EARTHEN, a nonprofit Environmental Organization she co-founded, Amina leads educational initiatives on Remote Sensing, GIS and Environmental Data Science. With BSc and MSc degrees in Environmental Science from the University of Chittagong, Bangladesh, her research focuses on leveraging advanced satellite data and GeoAI to address pressing environmental challenges, including neural network-based land use and land cover classification, forest mapping, and environmental monitoring.
Amina is particularly interested in the role of GeoAI—geospatial artificial intelligence—in enhancing climate research, using it to analyze complex spatial patterns and predict environmental changes with greater precision. Her work also extends to Explainable AI, ensuring transparency and interpretability in machine learning models for climate studies. Through her leadership at EARTHEN, Amina is dedicated to fostering collaborative research and driving innovative, AI-driven solutions for global climate resilience.
