Ms. Sara Rosengaertner
Sarah Rosengaertner is the Deputy Managing Director of the Global Centre for Climate Mobility (GCCM). She oversees the GCCM’s regional initiatives in Africa and the Greater Caribbean, as well as its Global Knowledge Hub with the Columbia Climate School. Sarah was a Fellow at the Zolberg Institute for Migration and Mobility at The New School and served as a Lecturer at Columbia University’s School for International and Public Affairs. She previously held advisory roles with the Mayors Migration Council, Open Society Foundations, The Elders, Columbia University’s Global Policy Initiative, the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) and the Special Representative of the UN Secretary General on Migration, the late Sir Peter Sutherland. Throughout, her work has focused on improving cooperation on, and the governance of, international migration. She started her career at the United Nations, working with the UN Institute for Training and Research and the UN Development Programme, training diplomats, and bringing the topic of migration onto the UN agenda and into the Sustainable Development Goals and national development strategies. Sarah holds degrees in political science from the Free University in Berlin and Sciences Po Paris.
